The Opti-Num Empowerment Trust’s main aim is to empower and assist students, particularly women, pursuing careers in STEM. This will help SA build a knowledge economy beyond the gender and racial lines. In that respect, the beneficiaries of the Empowerment Trust initiatives are the previously disadvantaged (Black) and marginalised gender (Female) in the history of South Africa(n) within the STEM fields. The Empowerment Trust is 3 years old and has assisted a number of women graduate by settling their tuition fees, where they would have otherwise not graduated due to owing the University.
