Praneet Kala is a Team Lead at Opti-Num Solutions. He obtained his BSc Degree at WITS in Mechanical Engineering and published his 4th year research project in journal article at the 10th Asian Control Conference 2015 (ASCC 2015) on Emerging Control Techniques for a Sustainable World. His role entails providing strategic and technical support to clients in the Aerospace and Defence, Wireless Communications, Aviation and Automotive industries. He also heads up the Digital Engineering Focus Area which provides our clients with insight into our offerings and the MathWorks tools, specific to Model-Based Design and Simulation-Based Engineering. Projects range from physical modelling systems, custom software reference designs for hardware (SoC's) and autonomous driving simulations.
Juan Sagarduy is a senior application engineer in the control design and automation field at MathWorks. His specific focus is physical multidomain modeling and simulation. In his role, Juan provides technical expertise for successful adoption of plant modeling tools (Simscape™ platform) for model-based development. In recent years, he has led several initiatives within Electrification for the Nordic region. Before joining MathWorks in 2011, Juan worked at the ABB Corporate Research Centre (Västerås, Sweden) in electrical machines and motion control projects. Juan holds an M.S. degree in industrial engineering (Bilbao, Spain) and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Cardiff University in the UK.
